How to make living with ADHD easier
{By: Lauren Trunfio} Think about your average day for a minute: Do you ever find it hard to stay organized, no matter how hard you try to get your life together? Is it easy for you to forget small details? Do you find yourself constantly distracted throughout the day? If any of these symptoms hit close to home, there is a chance you might have Inattentive ADHD (once called ADD, which means attention-deficit-disorder).
If you suffer from ADHD, you know firsthand how hard it is to combat these symptoms, and how crucial it is to overcome them. Constantly facing roadblocks when it comes to focusing is discouraging, as it makes completing even the simplest tasks more stressful and strenuous. Being proactive is hard when you are faced with so many internal obstacles. If you have ADHD, here are some tips for keeping yourself organized that will make your life easier.
Have a designated spot for your essentials
You know that irritating feeling of getting ready to leave the house, but finding that you have misplaced your keys? Discouraging the maximum degree! If you have a designated spot however to hang your keys, along with your daily go-to-bag, this decreases the possibility of throwing your keys in the first random empty spot that you find in your house. Instead of worrying about where you placed what item, you will be on your merry way to whatever destination you have planned for the day!
Keep a to-do-list
If you have ADHD, chances are someone you know may have said to you “have you ever tried making a list to keep yourself organized?” Making a list of priorities and to-do’s might feel daunting at first, but it is one of the best ways to stay on top of your day’s work. While there are plenty of apps that are designed especially for creating lists, I personally recommend using the Notes app because it’s simple and gets the job done without all the fuss of learning the interface of another app.
Keep a calendar
Birthdays, appointments, reminders, the list goes on. Instead of remembering dates and times in your head, it is much more efficient to write it out on a calendar that you know you’ll be able to look at each day. Since we live in such a digital age, if you do everything on your phone and if it’s with you 24/7, having a digital calendar might be the most effective way to keep track of where you have to be. However if handwriting is more efficient for you, you can always keep a written calendar as well.
Dabble in CBD
Another way to try and combat ADHD is through natural remedies, particularly CBD. Commons is a CBD company that we have been LOVING, particularly because they sell a variety of gummies, topicals, and dissolvables that are meant to help you go about your day feeling the very best you can. If you suffer from ADHD and need a bit of a pick-me-up to help you stay on top of your game, drop the will to make another cup of coffee and instead pick up Commons Day Gummies. With caffeine, vitamin B12, and CBD isolate, these gummies are the perfect solution for midday burnout. Get through the rest of your day the healthy way!
