A College Student’s Perspective on CBD

{By: Amanda Cigol} College is stressful. The days are full of classes, projects, exams, and late nights in the library. Meanwhile, in their “free time”, students decorate their resumes with extracurriculars and part-time jobs, on top of juggling a social life. The chaos is suffocating. How can students slow down?

Recently, college students have been turning to the healing factors of CBD as a remedy for their stressors. As a college student myself, I believe CBD is a great alleviating tool.

Regulating Sleep Schedules

CBD’s calming effects help students get some extra shut-eye. From my experience, living with roommates with different sleep schedules can be challenging. One may be a night owl, while the other an early bird. Some students lose sleep due to academic stress or insomnia. CBD can help relax students’ minds and bodies, making it easier to catch some z’s and even fall asleep faster.

Anxiety Relief

Some students find social situations hard. During my first year of college, I felt extremely anxious in a new environment. Meeting new people, navigating campus, and public speaking stressed me out greatly. CBD helps soothe and reduce anxious thoughts and makes them easier to manage. College students who struggle with social anxiety like me may consider incorporating CBD before stress-inducing events. Just a small dose of CBD before public speaking or social events will help relax the anxious mind. Without those nerves, students may feel a much-needed boost in their confidence!

Although the workload and social pressure persist, CBD can at least help balance out the worries and future anxieties for students.
