Fun in Philadelphia this Spring!
{ By Emily O’Connell, Editorial Coordinator }
Spring in Philadelphia means warmer weather, more sunshine and a chance to refresh and recharge.
There are many events in Philadelphia in the Spring, from Spring Blooms at Longwood Gardens to Philadelphia Phillies and Union games. According to Phillymag, it’s also a great time to check out new exhibits at the Philadelphia Zoo and the Franklin Institute, as well as a new gallery space opening at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Even though exploring Philadelphia looks a little different these days, there are still virtual events and many attractions to attend!
Every weekend there is something to celebrate too, because the Independence Visitors Center offers free Saturday parking and discounted tickets to 19 top attractions.
Embrace the warm weather and explore Philadelphia’s park system and other outdoor areas. Run, walk or even bike the trails in Fairmount Park and admire the historic homes and other landmarks along the way. Navigate Forbidden Drive – Pennsylvania’s 2018 Trail of the Year – in Wissahickon Valley Park, tucked in the northwestern corner of the city.
Shop a spring selection at many boutiques in Old City and Fishtown, such as Vagabond and Erdon, then grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant, with options like Frankford Hall or Tuna Bar, both with optional outdoor seating.
And if you are looking to venture out of the city, don’t miss Chestnut Hill’s Home and Garden Stroll, which features over 50 home and garden vendors alongside Germantown Avenue.
Grab take-out from your favorite local restaurant and head to Dilworth Park on Wednesdays beginning May 5th for their Dinner at Dilworth Park event, featuring live performances and to-go cocktails.
