Women in Wine Highlight: Julianne Donnini

As the co-owner and winemaker at Auburn Road, Donnini has put her heart and soul into wine through teaching herself all about the industry at hand. Originally graduating St. Joseph’s University with a degree in literature, and obtaining a law degree from Villanova Law School, Donnini practiced law for ten years in Philadelphia before becoming an entrepreneur and self-taught winemaker. Alongside her husband Scott, Julianne Donnini prides herself on creating a welcoming atmosphere for their guests from their picturesque outdoor setting, to the ambiance inside their tasting room.
With exceptional attention to detail, and creative imagination for different flavors and aromas in wine, Julianne reiterates to Jersey’s Best Magazine that “Art really permeates all aspects of our business, and that includes the art of winemaking.” As a co-owner and winemaker herself, Julianne is heavily involved in the winemaking process, along with the customer experience. Not only does Auburn Road have an exceptional aesthetic with their choice of design, but Julianne also does everything in her power to relate back to the guests. Scott and Julianne even offer guests the opportunity to become part of an intimate wine-tasting tour across their Enoteca vineyard, production facility, and barrel room.
