Workshop Special – The Wheel of Life
Written by Jodi Silverman
Welcome to 2025! By now you’ve either made your New Years resolutions and maybe even started taking action on them, and if you’re like most, it’s not going the way you intended. It’s OK, most resolutions don’t work out and here’s my take on why.
Resolutions tend to look and feel like a Should Do List and usually requires creating new habits by going from zero to 100 at the stroke of midnight. A perfect example is the resolution that sounds like this-”I’m going to go to the gym 5 days a week this year and really get into shape.” The problem with this is most likely you currently either only go to the gym once a week or not at all and to expect to wake up on January 1st and sustain 5 days a week is simply unrealistic and a set up for a failure that doesn’t have to be.
Let’s face it, creating new habits isn’t something you can resolve to do overnight. In addition, isn’t it time you start creating dreams and goals you desire vs what you think everyone else wants or expects from or for you?
Let me answer that for you…YES IT IS.
As a member in the Screamer Community, Cheldin is always reinforcing the importance of “Screaming Our Dreams” and the first way to begin doing this is by understanding and knowing 3 things…
What is it I want? Why do I want this? Why do I deserve this?
This year I am DARING YOU to Ditch the Resolutions for something better…Create a Vision Board.
Before you can get started on creating such a powerful manifestation tool, you will want to get clear on those three key questions from Cheldin.
Instead of writing a should do list and throwing darts at the board, hoping they stick somewhere, I am sharing a great tool to help set you up for success in 2025 and beyond.
The Wheel Of Life Exercise.
This tool will help you create a life of confidence, ease, and flow—not just for this year, but for the long term. I even recorded an special workshop episode to guide you through the process and you can listen to that HERE. [ NOTE episode will not be live until 1/9/25:
What is The Wheel of Life?
The Wheel of Life, a powerful tool that helps you evaluate key areas of your life and identify where you want to focus your energy and attention. It give you clarity on where you are so you can map out where you wish to be.
Grab a notebook, journal, piece of paper or download the Wheel of Life Workbook I created for you HERE.
By the end of this exercise, you’ll have clarity on your top three focus areas, clear goals, and action steps to move forward and then you will be in a perfect space to create your Vision Board with me.
Let’s get started!”
Step 1 is to First, understand the Wheel of Life.
It breaks down your life into eight areas:
- Money & Finance
- Career & Growth
- Health & Fitness
- Fun & Recreation
- Family & Friends
- Personal Development
- Partners & Love
- Spirituality
The goal is to assess your satisfaction in each area, identify what’s working, and uncover areas that need more attention. It’s about creating a life that feels balanced and fulfilling for you.
If you didn’t download the workbook you can do this..
Draw a circle, divide it into 8 sections like slices of a pizza, and label each section with one of these categories or you can download the wheel of life workbook from the show notes below.
Step 2: Assessing Your Wheel
Now that you have your wheel, let’s assess each area. Imagine a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 means ‘completely dissatisfied’ and 10 means ‘completely satisfied.’
Ask yourself these questions for each category:
- How satisfied am I with this area of my life right now?
- What would make this area a 10 for me?
Shade in the sections to reflect your satisfaction levels. Be honest with yourself—this is your starting point.”
Step 3: Identifying Your Top 3 Areas
“Now, look at your wheel. Which three areas feel the most important to focus on right now?
Ask yourself:
- Which areas, if improved, would have the biggest positive impact on my overall happiness and life balance?
- Where do I feel the most tension or dissatisfaction?
Circle your top three areas. These will be our focus for the rest of the workshop.”
Step 4: Deep Dive into Each Area
“Let’s take your first focus area and break it down further. For each of your top three areas, answer the following:
- Why did I rate this area the way I did?
- What’s currently working well here?
- What’s missing or needs improvement?
- What would a 10 look like in this area? Be specific.
Repeat this for each of your top three focus areas.”
Step 5: Setting Goal
Now it’s time to set some goals! For each of your top three areas, answer these questions:
- What’s one goal I can set to improve this area?
- What’s one small action I can take this week to move closer to that goal?
- What support or resources do I need to succeed?
Remember, small, consistent actions lead to big changes over time.
Step 6: Reflection and Commitment
Take a moment to reflect on what you’ve uncovered during this workshop.
- What surprised you about your wheel?
- How do your values show up in the areas you chose to focus on?
- What’s one commitment you’ll make today to start improving your wheel?
Write it down or say it out loud—make it real.
You’ve just taken a daring step toward creating a more balanced, fulfilling, and rewarding life. Remember, the Wheel of Life isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress. Life is dynamic, and your wheel will shift over time. Keep revisiting it to stay aligned with your values and goals.
Now you’re ready to create a Vision Board.
