Strong, Resilient, and Worthy: The Power of Women and Sacred Self-Care

Written by  Cryss Simmons, Founder of Lamb and Honey

To quote the words from the Child of Destiny – “…all the women who’s independent – throw ya hands up at me! To all the mamas makin’ dollas, throw ya hands up at me!” This message is for you.

March is for us. Period. But on second thought, which month isn’t? LOL We are the trailblazers, the nurturers, the warriors, the healers, the fighters. The ones who push through exhaustion, who carry the weight of generations on our backs, who make the impossible look effortless.

And friend, that means you, too.

Women’s History Month isn’t just about celebrating the past – it’s about recognizing the strength we carry today and the legacy we’re building for tomorrow. But can we be honest? Strength is often mistaken for endurance. We’ve been taught to keep going, to hold it all together, to push through even when we’re running on empty. And while we are strong, strength isn’t just about doing more.

True strength is knowing when to rest. It’s knowing when to pour back into yourself so you can keep showing up whole, radiant, and fully you.

Strength in Self-Care

January was about setting the foundation for sacred self-care, and February reminded us that self-care is an act of love, then March? March is about recognizing that self-care is also resistance.

In a world that constantly demands more from women (or most recently, trying to take from women), taking time for yourself is not only revolutionary, it’s declaring:

  • I am not just what I produce.
  • I am not just what I give.
  • I am worthy of care, simply because I exist.

This month, I want you to redefine what strength looks like in your life. Not just the kind that pushes through, but the kind that sustains. The kind that allows you to be soft, to rest, to heal.

Our Strength, Our Rituals

At Lamb and Honey, we honor the power of women with self-care rituals that aren’t just routine; they’re restorative. This month, take time to honor your strength in a way that nourishes you:

  • Acknowledge your resilience. Every challenge you’ve faced, every battle you’ve won made you who you are. Take a moment to reflect, journal, or pray over the ways you’ve grown.
  • Release the need to do it all. Strength doesn’t mean carrying everything. It’s okay to delegate. It’s okay to pause. It’s okay to ask for help.
  • Protect your peace. Say no without guilt. Set boundaries without explanation. Choose environments, conversations, and products that replenish you.
  • Embody your beauty. Your skin tells a story, just like the women before you. Care for it. Nurture it. Let your glow be a reflection of the love you give yourself.

Honoring Our Legacy

The women before us fought for more than just survival – they fought for wholeness. They fought for futures where women could be fully themselves, without apology.

So this month, as we honor their legacy, let’s continue it. Let’s embrace the strength that rests. Let’s pour into ourselves as much as we pour into others. Let’s make self-care non-negotiable; not just for us, but for the generations that follow.

Because when a woman is cared for, when she is whole, she is unstoppable.

This Women’s History Month, honor yourself. Celebrate your resilience. And let your self-care be a tribute to the powerful woman you are.Ready to begin? Join us at Lamb and Honey as we continue this sacred journey together.
