Family Winery Highlight- 4JG’s Winery
{By: Lauren Trunfio} The Giunco family has exceptional standards when it comes to producing wine. Named after the four owners, John and Janet Giunco and their two children John and Jill, 4JG’s Orchards & Vineyards has been a staple winery in Monmouth County for over 60 years. With their simple philosophy being to only use the best grapes grown in their vineyards for their bottles, 4JG’s has proven that customer satisfaction is what matters most. However, what sets 4JG’s apart the most from other wineries is their attention to good farming practices, along with a careful selection of rootstock which certainly attributes to the powerful and delightful taste of their carefully curated wines.
4JG’s Winery is also an internationally recognized, and locally acclaimed winery. Their Chambourcin Riserva wine won its first gold medal in the 2004 NJ Wine Competition, as well as a medal at the 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine competition. All four of JG’s wines (The Chambourcin Riserva 2017, Cabernet Franc 2017, Cayuga White 2017, and Patriot) also were awarded medals at the 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, proving that their dedication to wine is unmatched.
For a first time visit, we recommend checking out their flagship wine which is the Chambourcin Riserva, which is a blackberry and herb aroma that is aged in American Oak barrels for 12 months before it makes its way into bottles. Be sure to check out 4JG’s to get a taste of these praiseworthy bottles of wine.
