Celebrating Collaboration: HERStyle, New York Fashion Week
This past weekend, THIS IS IT NETWORK™ hosted our exclusive HERStyle Women in Fashion Event during New York Fashion Week on Sunday, September 8th. The event, held at FIFTY FOUR NYC, was a vibrant celebration of collaboration, creativity, and the power of women in the fashion, beauty, design, and retail industries. In partnership with New York photographer Sam Popp, we brought together remarkable female creatives to share their stories and elevate their voices in the heart of NYC.
Attendees enjoyed live interviews with Cheldin Barlatt Rumer, CEO/Executive Producer of THIS IS IT NETWORK™, and captured their unique styles through professional portraits in the POPP-UP Photo Salon. This unforgettable event showcased the talents and projects of inspiring women, including collaborations with Realm Jewelry, BLK + GRN, Camofleur, Commons, Bella Magazine, Crave, and Serenity Nail Polish.
How Women Can Collaborate with Other Women
Collaboration is essential in building a thriving community of female leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs. Women can amplify their voices, grow their networks, and create lasting impact across industries by working together. Here are a few suggestions on how women can collaborate:
1. Host Joint Events
Whether in-person or virtual, events are powerful platforms for women to come together and share knowledge. Hosting panel discussions, workshops, or networking events with like-minded women can help boost visibility while creating meaningful connections.
Example: At the HERStyle Women in Fashion event, designers and business owners collaborated by co-hosting booths and sharing their unique stories with the audience. This not only helped them reach new customers but also allowed them to build relationships with each other for future projects.
2. Cross-promote on Social Media
One of the simplest yet most effective ways to collaborate is by sharing each other’s content on social media. Cross-promotion helps build a larger audience, provides credibility, and fosters a sense of community.
Example: After the HERStyle event, participating brands such as BLK + GRN and Camofleur shared each other’s posts and tagged partners, helping boost visibility for all involved and promoting a message of collective support.
3. Partner on Content Creation
Co-creating content is an excellent way for women to collaborate. Whether writing a blog post, producing a podcast, or filming a video series, joining forces can elevate both parties’ brands.
Example: Sam Popp and Cheldin Barlatt Rumer co-hosted the POPP-UP Photo Salon during HERStyle, allowing participants to gain professional photography content while sharing their stories live on THIS IS IT NETWORK™.
4. Mentorship and Skill Sharing
Women leaders can greatly benefit from mentorship relationships. Sharing insights, offering feedback, and providing resources create a sense of camaraderie while empowering others to succeed.
Example: The panel discussions during HERStyle included seasoned entrepreneurs offering advice on how to break into the fashion and retail space, inspiring young women creatives in attendance to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.
5. Co-Branding Products or Services
Collaborating on a product or service can be a game-changer for female entrepreneurs. Bringing together two different but complementary brands allows women to create something new and exciting that speaks to a broader audience.
Example: At HERStyle, brands like Realm Jewelry and Crave Activewear discussed potential collaborations to co-create unique collections that combine fitness and fashion, amplifying their reach.
Continuing the Collaboration Movement
The energy and connections made at the HERStyle Women in Fashion event were a testament to the importance of working together to elevate the voices of remarkable women. Whether through shared projects, co-hosted events, or mentorship, collaboration is the key to unlocking new opportunities.
We invite all women leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs to continue the momentum and find meaningful ways to work together. Let’s build a stronger, more connected community of female changemakers committed to elevating each other’s voices.
