How to Spend the Holidays in Philadelphia

{By: Lauren Trunfio} Big things are happening in Philadelphia during the holidays, so prepare for an incredible season with tons of activities that you, your friends, and your significant other can enjoy. With countless shows, markets, and attractions, you’ll be left satisfied and entertained during one of the most exciting times of the year.

Head over to Luminature with Your Family

If you and your family are on a quest to see something truly spectacular this season, head over to the Philadelphia zoo after hours for an immersive display of over one-million-holiday lights. Starting November 18th through January 1st, lights will illuminate the fourteen district zones of the zoo, resulting in an incredible show that will keep everyone’s attention and satisfy even the most hard-to-please family members.

Go to Holiday on the Hill with your Friends

If you and your friends are tired of frequenting the same shops and festivals this season, then Chestnut Hill’s annual Holiday on the Hill event is absolutely a must for you to attend this year. Starting November 18th, there is no shortage of excitement and fun to be had, as you and your friends can expect music along with refreshments and events activities that will satisfy everyone’s interests! Just some of the many attractions and events you can expect to take part in include shopping on Small Business Saturday, evenings at the Woodmere Art Museum, as well as attending the Chestnut Hill Holiday Parade.

Head over to Longwood Gardens With Your S/O

If you and your partner are looking for a bit of romance for this season, Longwood Gardens always has one of the most magical Christmas displays during this time of year. Starting November 18th through January 8th, you both can walk around and see botanically-inspired light displays, along with floral displays and other immersive experiences that will be sure to delight you are your loved one. You also won’t want to miss the East Conservatory where the Christmas trees and other exhibits will be illuminated all night long! Remember, you must purchase tickets ahead of time in order to see the holiday lights!

For a Night Out, Grab Some Festive Craft Beer

If you just want to relax with some friends after a long day (while still being festive, of course) head over to your local brewery for some craft beer and a good time with friends. During this time of year, specialty drinks are usually making their way onto the menu, which means now is the perfect time to treat yourself to a night out. One place that has an incredible selection of holiday treats and drinks is Revolution House in Old City. Here, you can sample signature cocktails like a Pumpkin-Tini and Hot Apple Pie Moonshine! What’s not to love?

This post is brought to you by Big Bobble Hats. Having spent many years trying to find the perfect Beanie or Bobble Hat both on the ski slopes and in the great outdoors, it finally occurred to us to create our own! Our first set of hats were worn on a trip to Les Arc in 2010 and the feedback we received was fantastic, and Big Bobble Hats was born. Nearly 12 years later we now have over 100 styles of Big Bobble Hats! We have expanded our hat range to now include beanies, bucket hats and baseball caps. We are now also proud to sell clothing too. All of our products are proudly designed in Scotland, and named by our fans via naming competitions on our social media!
