Top Valentine’s Day Recipes for YOU!

{ By Emily O’Connell, Editorial Coordinator }

Are you planning to cook for someone special this Valentine’s Day?  Even if you aren’t, you can still celebrate this holiday with a delicious dinner!  Top meals include classic steaks, indulgent pasta dishes and elaborate cocktails. If you don’t want to cook (or don’t have the time) there are plenty of restaurant meal kit suggestions that can recreate some of your favorite dishes at home.

Forget champagne and oysters, here are a few items that will really showcase your creativity and adoration.

  1. Steak with Peppercorn Sauce

Treat Valentine’s Day with respect and complete the perfect steak with peppercorn sauce.  Takes just twenty minutes to prepare the all-American T-Bone sirloin with an iceberg wedge salad, or with Cajun potatoes and a crisp slaw. It can be as complicated or as simple as you like, just make sure to add a classic steak sauce!

  1. Spaghetti Carbonara

Go all out with a brimming bowlful of pasta and this show stopping dish isn’t for your average. All you really need in this delicious recipe is olive oil, pancetta and a bunch of cheese.

  1. Espresso Martinis

Channel the flavours of a classic espresso martini cocktail into a simple Italian-inspired Valentine’s Day dessert for two. This elegant espresso martini affogato combines smooth vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of espresso martini liqueur and hot coffee.

  1. Sea Bass

Fall in love with fish this season!  If you’re a seafood lover, this fish is a beautiful filet with the most flaky, buttery flavor.  It’s very forgiving, so give it a try (and won’t blow your time budget).

  1. Vanilla Buttercream Cupcakes

Don’t forget something sweet! Choose an indulgent dessert to pair with a main course, and why not add the espresso martini to complete the menu.  Up the cocoa content as well if you’re not interested in vanilla!

Other additions so delicious that didn’t make the list include lobster tail and ratatouille. Oh, and if you’re a vegan – hazelnut and oregano pasta will do the trick!
