We are now approaching the back-to-school season and some moms are preparing their chicks to leave the nest. It’s a scary and exciting time, but moms can squeeze in some extra bonding time going college shopping with their soon to be college freshman!
This is it TV has compiled the ultimate checklist of essentials your student will actually need for their second home (besides the obvious stuff). Stick to this list to avoid overspending and cluttering a usually small dorm. Bring it with you and don’t forget those coupons!

- 2 Sets of Sheets (usually Twin XL for dorm beds)
- Comforter/Duvet
- Bath Towels
- Shower Cady & Shower Shoes (for communal bathrooms)
- Cozy Throw Blanket
- Extension cord/Power strip
- Headphones
- First Aid Kit
- Laundry Basket/Bag (collapsable for small spaces)
- Small fan
- Command Hooks
- Reusable Water Bottle
- Hairdryer (if they use one!)
- Raincoat & Boots (depending on climate)
